Today we made Fall Collages inspired by nature. We read Mama Built a Little Nest by Jennifer Ward. We also looked at the illustrations in the book Outside Your Window: A First Book of Nature by Nicola Davies which has beautiful collage illustrations and covers everything from different seasons, to compost, to insects and animals.
The art project was a mixed media project. The children created crayon rubbings of leaves. Then they glued images of birds and added in twigs, plants, acorns and other natural materials.
